Windows 11 PC users can now utilize the ‘Cocreator’ feature, a text-to-image generator powered by DALL-E, in the latest iteration of Microsoft Paint.
The official rollout of the Cocreator AI feature in Windows 11 Paint represents a significant advancement. Initially exclusive to Windows Insiders, this integrated text-to-image tool, utilizing OpenAI’s DALL-E 3 model, is now accessible to all users. As reported by Windows Central, the addition of the Cocreator function in Microsoft Paint allows users to describe their visual concepts and receive a selection of three generated images.
While the image generation feature is new to Microsoft Paint, the use of DALL-E 3’s text-to-image capabilities extends to various Microsoft services. Initially available through Microsoft’s Bing search chatbot, this functionality is now part of the broader Copilot AI assistant. Furthermore, OpenAI provides DALL-E 3 access to users of its premium ChatGPT platform.
Despite Copilot’s widespread integration across platforms like Windows 10 and Microsoft 365, the introduction of Cocreator in Paint feels deliberate and cohesive.
