– Commemorating Infrastructure Act Anniversary: YouTube AI Regulation and FCC Cybersecurity Pilot Software

The FCC has proposed a pilot program to help schools and libraries protect against cyberattacks.

As more technologies such as satellites, mobile devices, 5G and 6G networks, and private cellular networks increasingly rely on limited airwave capacity, there is a growing need to open up cellular spectrum.

The Competitive Carriers Association, in a statement released recently, commended the strategy for addressing crucial issues previously raised with the FCC through public opinion. This includes emphasizing the importance of licensing mid-band range, which is deemed essential for the successful expansion of mobile services.

Tim Donovan, the CEO of CCA, expressed optimism about collaborating with the Administration, FCC, Congress, and other stakeholders to effectively execute the Strategy. He highlighted the necessity for Congress to enact legislation reinstating the Federal Communications Commission’s authority to implement the band program.

The advancement of communication in the United States hinges on a robust spectrum pipeline. Grant Spellmeyer, CEO of America’s Communications Association Connects, emphasized the need to leverage all available resources, such as special use, unregulated usage, and sharing, to meet the escalating demands for mobile diversity.
