Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) revealed their latest desktop offerings tailored for the emerging category of high-end personal computers referred to as AI PCs on Monday, resulting in an initial surge in AMD stock value during early trading.

During the Les 2024 technical exhibition in Las Vegas, AMD introduced the Ryzen 8000G Series desktop computers. These processors, specifically engineered by the semiconductor manufacturer, are crafted to handle intensive tasks such as gaming and content creation, while also being finely tuned for local AI operations.

Furthermore, AMD introduced the Ryzen 8040 Set processors designed for AI-powered desktop PCs on December 6.

AMD and Intel Showcase AI Computing at Les 2024

At CES 2024, prominent laptop manufacturers including Acer, Asus, Lenovo, HP ( HP Q), and Razer will showcase laptops powered by AMD’s Ryzen 8040 Series processors. The Les 2024 event officially commences on Tuesday and will continue through Friday.

AMD has integrated a neural processing unit into their latest desktop and mobile processors for AI PCs.

Jack Huynh, the senior vice president and general manager of AMD’s Computing and Graphics Group, stated that AMD remains at the forefront of AI technology advancements by providing a comprehensive range of processors with dedicated AI capabilities in the x86 market.

Later at CES 2024, Intel (INTC), AMD’s competitor, will host a presentation to outline their strategy for AI computing.

AMD’s Technological Advancements in Stock Performance

In addition to the AI-focused products, AMD also introduced the Ryzen 5000 Series desktop computers for mainstream users on Monday. The availability of the Ryzen 5000 and 8000G series components is expected by January 31.

Moreover, AMD unveiled the Radeon RX 7600 XT graphics cards designed for demanding PC gaming and content creation. The graphics card is anticipated to hit the market by January 24.

The Ryzen 8000G Series processors are offered in three variants priced at \(179, \)229, and \(329 respectively. Additionally, the Radeon RX 7600 XT graphics card is priced at \)329.
