**PwC Ireland Launches Innovative AI Hub to Boost Tech Adoption**

Consultancy also publishes survey suggesting Irish firms have been slow to adopt new technology

In a bid to enhance the uptake of the latest technology, PwC Ireland and Microsoft are launching a cutting-edge Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) business hub. The establishment, as per the professional services firm, aims to “drive the necessary investment returns in a secure and reliable manner” and is located at the conglomerate’s British base on North Wall Quay in Dublin.

As per reports, the technology holds “the potential to revolutionize sectors by automating tasks, transforming the approach to problem-solving, and unlocking novel opportunities.”

In collaboration with Microsoft, PwC made a global investment exceeding €1 billion earlier this year to scale up and advance AI capabilities, propelling human-centric, technology-driven transformations.

The unveiling of the new European division coincided with a recent PwC study indicating a sluggish adoption rate of AI and GenAI in Ireland compared to global benchmarks.

A survey conducted among local business executives revealed that a mere 7% have extensively integrated AI within their organizations, a significant drop from 26% in a previous survey of US business leaders conducted by the consultancy.

The question arises: Will the new direction for RTÉ ensure the broadcaster’s sustained viability in the long run?

In the forthcoming period, almost a quarter of British business leaders admitted to having no intentions of incorporating GenAI, such as OpenAI’s GPT models. Nonetheless, 61% of respondents expressed contemplation regarding AI adoption or are currently utilizing it to a limited extent.

Enda McDonagh, the managing partner of PwC Ireland, expressed in response to the inauguration of the new hub, “This marks a pivotal investment by PwC Ireland and aligns with our strategic goal of leading technological transformations. Through this strategic alliance with Microsoft, we can harness the potential of conceptual AI to instill trust and deliver enduring outcomes for users.”
