Stellantis N.V. has announced the acquisition of CloudMade’s artificial intelligence framework, machine learning models, and intellectual property rights and patents. This asset deal will bolster the development of STLA SmartCockpit and reinforce Stellantis’ software strategy as outlined in Dare Forward 2030.
The AI-powered framework developed by CloudMade, along with its integrated graphical interfaces, stands out as the industry leader in cloud and software development kits for collecting and analyzing automotive data sets. Over the past decade, it has been instrumental in reshaping the in-car and mobility user experience.
Yves Bonnefont, Stellantis Chief Software Officer, expressed that the acquisition of CloudMade’s pioneering AI capabilities will expedite the progress on STLA SmartCockpit and aid in achieving the Dare Forward 2030 objectives. By leveraging this adaptable technology and the expanding connected car parc, Stellantis aims to deliver intelligent mobility solutions promptly and with enhanced flexibility to provide personalized in-vehicle and mobile experiences for customers.
As part of the deal, 44 engineers and software developers from CloudMade specializing in AI technology will be joining Stellantis, further enriching the talent pool dedicated to software development.
CloudMade’s framework architecture is designed to maximize data value through personalized learning, fleet learning, and cohort learning approaches. These methodologies predict individual behavior, utilize sensor data across devices to identify real-world features, and combine data from specific groups to enhance the overall user experience.
The acquisition will enable Stellantis to offer predictive maintenance and diagnostics, personalized in-car experiences, a Stellantis-specific voice assistant, optimized mobile experiences, advanced navigation and mapping, and targeted fleet management features. These services and products aim to enhance vehicle availability, personalize driving experiences, optimize navigation, and improve fleet management efficiency.
Additionally, Stellantis will develop end-to-end navigation features, enhance data privacy by managing model training data internally, and introduce development kits for custom model creation by software developers.
