Nov 30 (Reuters) – Siltronic (WAFGn.DE) has outlined its expectations for substantial growth in sales and profitability over the next five years, citing the influence of key megatrends such as artificial intelligence, digitalization, and electromobility. In a recent strategy update, the company emphasized that these megatrends are poised to drive a significant surge in the demand for semiconductors and, consequently, for wafers.
Anticipating a robust uptrend, the German provider of silicon wafers to the semiconductor sector projects that its sales will surpass 2.2 billion euros ($2.41 billion) and aims for an EBITDA margin in the high 30-percentage range by 2028. This forecast indicates a remarkable revenue surge of over 40% compared to the current year’s sales guidance.
Nonetheless, Siltronic foresees a challenge in the form of elevated inventory levels among customers in the first half of 2024, which could potentially impact sales during that period.
