During a recent interview with India Today to promote their upcoming movie Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon shared their perspectives. The duo explored an unconventional love story intertwined with artificial intelligence (AI) in their film. Shahid Kapoor, confronted with the rise of deepfake videos, pointed out human responsibility for mishandling AI, stressing the distinction between human creations and those of a higher authority. ‘Yearning for an Alternative Existence’
Shahid Kapoor expressed his thoughts, stating, “The root cause lies within human actions. They have invited this upon themselves and society. Blaming AI serves as a mere distraction. Our inclination towards escaping reality is evident. The personas we craft on social media deviate from reality, fostering harmful comparisons and leading to feelings of despondency. This pursuit of an alternate existence resonates with the core of AI, mirroring the intricacies of human connections. The juxtaposition between the artificial and the divine is a central motif subtly depicted in this film (Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya).”
Contributing to the dialogue, Kriti Sanon raised her apprehensions, remarking, “The surge in manipulated content is concerning, encompassing the spread of altered visuals. Nevertheless, the rise of AI-generated news anchors signifies rapid advancements. Therefore, the plausibility of AI companions in the near future should not be dismissed.”
Insights into Their Movie
In Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, Shahid portrays a scientist who develops an emotional connection with Kriti’s character, Sifra, an exceptionally intelligent female robot. At a recent event in Jaipur, Shahid addressed inquiries about the potential replacement of human emotions by AI, emphasizing that such a scenario encapsulates the essence of his upcoming cinematic venture.
Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya is written and directed by Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah, with production overseen by Dinesh Vijan, Jyoti Deshpande, and Laxman Utekar. The film also features the legendary actor Dharmendra.
