**Upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 to Feature Bidu and Ernie AI Chatbots**

Chinese tech giant Baidu will partner Samsung to integrate its Ernie chatbot capabilities into Gala…

Baidu AI Cloud is set to integrate its Ernie chatbot into Samsung’s Galaxy S24 smartphones, enabling users to engage in real-time call translations and access various other functionalities.

Ernie, the foreign tech giant, is akin to OpenAI’s ChatGPT, designed to provide highly accurate responses to user queries through the use of artificial intelligence technology.

This integration follows Samsung’s recent unveiling of the Galaxy S24 series, which boasts AI-driven capabilities as the South Korean tech titan endeavors to outshine competitors like Apple’s latest iPhones in terms of technology offerings.

The enhanced Samsung Note Assistant now leverages Ernie’s advanced comprehension and generation capabilities to facilitate tasks such as information interpretation and condensing lengthy content into well-structured formats with a simple click, streamlining text organization processes.

Notably, Samsung did not rank among China’s top 5 smartphone vendors, as per IDC’s data for 2023. Apple secured the top spot with a 17.3% market share, followed by Honor, Vivo, Huawei, and Oppo.

In October, Baidu unveiled Ernie 4.0, hailed as the most powerful iteration of the Ernie base model to date, equipped with comprehensive comprehension, generation, reasoning, and memory capabilities.

CEO Robin Li highlighted the significant advancements of both OpenAI’s GPT-4 and Baidu’s Ernie 4.0 during the Baidu World 2023 event, emphasizing their cutting-edge capabilities compared to previous versions.

Baidu announced in December that the Ernie chatbot had swiftly garnered over 100 million users within four months of its public launch, positioning itself in competition with Tencent’s Hunyuan and Alibaba’s Tongyi Qianwen in the generative AI space in China.

Shortly after its release in November 2022, ChatGPT attracted 100 million monthly active users, underscoring the growing popularity of AI-powered chatbots.

Reports surfaced suggesting that an organization affiliated with the People’s Liberation Army tested its AI technology on Ernie for cyberattack purposes, leading to a challenging end of the year for Baidu. However, Baidu refuted these claims, stating no involvement in any business collaborations with the organization.

Currently, Baidu’s stocks have declined by 7.53 percent, reflecting the impact of recent events on investor sentiment.

Looking ahead, IDC forecasts the integration of more AI features into personal devices, including smartphones, starting in 2024, driven by advancements in semiconductor technology.
