Samsung Electronics announced today that it will unveil its latest kitchen appliances, software, and functionalities at CES® 2024. These innovations will leverage SmartThings connectivity and artificial intelligence (AI) to create an ecosystem that enhances food and culinary experiences. Among the highlights is the 2024 Bespoke 4-Door FlexTM Refrigerator with AI Family HubTM+, the pioneering home Internet of Things (IoT) refrigerator introduced in 2016. Equipped with the new AI Vision Inside feature, an innovative Anyplace Induction Cooktop, and enhancements to the Samsung Food service, this refrigerator stands out in the lineup.

AI Capabilities Enhancing Culinary Knowledge and Meal Planning
The 2024 Bespoke 4-Door FlexTM Refrigerator with AI Family HubTM+ incorporates advanced technologies to elevate the culinary journey. The AI Vision Inside feature utilizes an internal camera to identify items entering and exiting the refrigerator. Moreover, it employs “Vision AI” technology, leveraging a vast dataset of around one million food images to recognize up to 33 different fresh food items. Users can manually input expiration dates for items on the Family HubTM+ screen’s food list feature. The refrigerator’s 32” LCD screen notifies users when items reach their expiration date.

The Family HubTM+ screen simplifies the process of purchasing new water filters from Amazon through the Fridge Manager feature, which monitors water filtration status and alerts users when a replacement is needed.
The features extend to the Appliance screen, where users can access saved food items from the Family HubTM+ on the 7” LCD screens of Samsung’s new Anytime Induction Cooktop and Slide-in Range. The Anytime Induction Cooktop features advancements in cooking functionality, including even heat distribution across pots and pans. Additionally, the use of Anti-Scratch Glass reduces concerns about scratching the surface when moving cookware.
Furthermore, the Samsung Food software, accessible on the Family HubTM+, Anytime Induction Cooktop, and Slide-in Range, introduces enhanced AI capabilities. The “Personalize” feature allows users to customize recipes based on dietary preferences such as vegan, gluten-free, or dairy-free. The updated “Image-to-Recipe” feature, powered by Vision AI, identifies food items from images and suggests recipes. Additionally, the Personalized Meal Plan feature analyzes user data from Samsung Health profiles to create customized meal plans based on individual health requirements.
