Samsung Electronics has revealed its plans to utilize CES® 2024 as a platform to unveil the latest kitchen products, programs, and features underpinned by SmartThings connectivity and artificial intelligence (AI). This initiative aims to create an ecosystem that enhances the food and dining experience. Among the key highlights is the 2024 Bespoke 4- Door FlexTM Refrigerator with AI Family HubTM+, which was the first IoT refrigerator for homes when it was launched in 2016. This refrigerator boasts the innovative AI Vision Inside feature, a new Anyplace Induction Cooktop, and enhancements to the Samsung Food service.

Moohyung Lee, the Executive Vice President and Head of the Customer Experience Group of Digital Appliances Business at Samsung Electronics, expressed enthusiasm about showcasing these upgraded AI and communication features at the event. These features leverage cutting-edge technology to elevate food and kitchen experiences for users across various platforms.

The 2024 Bespoke 4- Door FlexTM Refrigerator with AI Family HubTM+ is equipped with advanced technologies aimed at enhancing the dining experience. One notable feature is the AI Vision Inside, a sophisticated internal camera that can identify items being placed in or taken out of the refrigerator. Additionally, it incorporates “Vision AI” technology, which can recognize up to 33 different food items based on a database of approximately one million food images. Users can manually input expiration dates for items they wish to monitor on the Family HubTM+ screen’s food list.

Furthermore, the Family HubTM+ screen allows users to conveniently purchase water filters from Amazon with the Fridge Manager feature. This feature monitors the water filter status and notifies users when a replacement is needed. Users can also access saved recipes on the Family HubTM+ to assist them in meal preparation on Samsung’s new Anyplace Induction Cooktop and Slide-in Range, both featuring a 7” LCD display. The Anyplace Induction Cooktop utilizes Samsung’s induction strip coil technology, enhancing cooking performance and preventing scratches with Anti-Scratch Glass.

The Samsung Food app is supported by the Family HubTM+, Anyplace Induction Cooktop, and Slide-in Range, offering various enhanced AI features. Users can personalize recipes to suit dietary preferences such as vegan, gluten-free, and more using the “Personalize” feature. The “Image-to-Recipe” feature now utilizes improved Vision AI to identify ingredients from images and suggest recipes. Additionally, the Designed Meal Plan feature analyzes user data from Samsung Health profiles to create customized meal plans based on health requirements.

The integration of AI-powered connected appliances and features, centered around the Bespoke 4- Door FlexTM Refrigerator with AI Family HubTM+, aims to provide users with a seamless and intelligent kitchen experience throughout the day. Samsung Food interacts with Samsung Health, recommending recipes based on health data collected from the platform. Tap View simplifies the process of sharing content from Galaxy phones to the Family HubTM+ camera, while users can access YouTube and TikTok apps on the kitchen panel for entertainment and information.

These advancements align with Samsung’s overarching goal of expanding its AI-driven, interconnected food ecosystem to offer users enhanced kitchen experiences with minimal effort.
