Attend a Special Networking Event in Boston on March 27
Salesforce has taken a significant step forward in its AI initiatives with the launch of Einstein 1 Studio, coinciding with the TrailblazerDX developer conference.
The Einstein 1 Studio offers developers a suite of tools to customize the Salesforce Einstein Copilot gen AI assistant, which was recently introduced in beta. Although initially announced in 2023, the Einstein 1 Studio has now become widely available to Salesforce developers.
While Einstein Copilot focuses on user interaction, the Einstein 1 Studio is geared towards creating tailored user experiences. It consists of three primary tools: Copilot Builder, Prompt Builder, and Model Builder. Copilot Builder allows users to develop personalized AI actions for specific business requirements, while Prompt Builder facilitates the creation and activation of custom prompts within workflows. Model Builder empowers developers to construct or import diverse AI models to address specific use cases.
Alice Steinglass, EVP and GM of the Salesforce platform, emphasized the importance of equipping developers with the necessary tools to embrace an AI-driven future seamlessly, whether through no code, low code, or pro code solutions.

Rising Demand for Gen AI in Enterprises
At TrailblazerDX, Salesforce is unveiling new insights on the AI-IT gap.
Research indicates that 87% of IT professionals believe gen AI has lived up to or surpassed its expectations, leading to mounting pressure on developers to swiftly implement AI solutions. However, a significant challenge lies in the fact that 88% of IT professionals feel overwhelmed by the volume of AI-related requests they receive.
Steinglass highlighted that AI is not only revolutionizing how applications are developed but also influencing the nature of these applications.
“Previously, without AI, every action, button, and workflow had to be hard-coded. AI is unlocking new avenues for developers, enabling real-time customer interactions and personalized experiences,” Steinglass remarked.
Personalization Lies at the Core of Einstein 1 Studio
Organizations can now tailor the default Einstein Copilot using the Copilot Builder within Einstein 1 Studio.
“With Copilot Builder, businesses can craft their own AI-driven actions, customizing Einstein Copilot to suit their specific needs,” Steinglass explained. These actions leverage Salesforce developer tools like Apex, Flow, Heroku, and MuleSoft APIs, familiar resources for Salesforce developers. This integration allows teams to extend and customize Einstein Copilot to perform actions across Salesforce and external systems using their existing skill sets.
An essential feature of any copilot tool is the prompt, where the Prompt Builder tool from Einstein 1 Studio comes into play. Prompt Builder, a low-code tool, simplifies the process of creating and refining AI prompts.
“Every call to an LLM involves a prompt that sends data and instructions to the model. Prompt Builder empowers customers to experiment with prompts, test and modify them, and seamlessly link them to trusted CRM and data cloud resources within their organization,” Steinglass elaborated. Prompt Builder also enables developers to embed AI within various Salesforce workflows, enabling tasks like filling out text fields, guiding workflows, summarizing meetings, and integrating generative AI as needed.
Empowering Custom AI Development
Another key aspect of Einstein 1 Studio is the Model Builder.
“Unlike other solutions that restrict businesses to a single LLM, our model is open,” Steinglass emphasized. “Model Builder in Einstein 1 Studio offers the flexibility to connect with a range of AI models.” While customers can utilize existing models, some may opt to fine-tune models to align with their unique employee or customer requirements. Model Builder supports multiple AI platforms, including Anthropic, Cohere, Databricks, Google Cloud’s Vertex AI, and OpenAI.
“This will democratize AI development and inspire a new wave of trailblazers,” Steinglass concluded.
