Rapidus has initiated the construction of an Innovative Integration for Manufacturing (IIM) facility in Chitose City, Hokkaido, aimed at producing cutting-edge logic semiconductors at the 2nm scale and beyond. The company’s partnership with IBM on 2nm semiconductor technology involves knowledge exchange at the Albany Nanotech Complex in New York, a renowned semiconductor research facility. Additionally, Rapidus plans to acquire EUV printing technology from imec to establish a pilot production line at IIM-1 by April 2025, with mass production slated for 2027.
