Authorities in Baltimore County on Thursday announced the arrest of a former high school athletic producer who is accused of using AI-generated words to attack the director of the institution while making racist remarks.
Dazhon Darien, 31, was detained earlier this morning while trying to board a trip with a firearm, according to Baltimore County Chief of Police Robert McCollough, who spoke at a press conference on Thursday.
Officials quickly discovered Darien had an active warrant for his arrest and arrested him after he was stopped by Maryland Transportation Authority soldiers.
The former university athletic director has been charged with disrupting school actions, fraud, retaliating against a testimony, and stalking, McCollough said. The original athletic director of Pikesville High School is being held in custody on a $5,000 bond.
The Baltimore Banner first reported on Thursday night that Darien allegedly programmed Principal Eric Eiswert’s words to make anti-Semitic notes in an audio tape he later shared on social media.
“The sound clip… had profound implications,” the officer’s charging files read, according to the store. Eiswert’s temporary removal from the class was a result of the combination of the two, which also resulted in a flood of hate-filled social media posts and numerous phone calls to the school. Additionally, the recording caused major disruptions to the PHS staff and students.
McCollough stated on Thursday that investigators had discovered “conclusive proof that the recording was not real” and that two investigative analysts had determined that the recording had been created using artificial intelligence.
According to McCollough, Darien reportedly searched for the AI audio technology while using school computers.
In response to furious reaction at the institution and within the neighborhood area, investigators also claimed they connected Darien to an internet connected to the social media account that first shared the AI-generated audio clip.

According to McCollough, Darien allegedly leaked the false music “to fight” against Eiswert, who earlier this year launched an investigation into Darien’s alleged mishandling of school finances.
According to The Banner, Darien was under investigation after he issued a practically $2,000 pay to the university’s junior varsity basketball coach, who is also his companion.
Darien allegedly skipped routine paychecks to review the settlement, which was made out of the coach’s account because he also served as an intern girl’s soccer coach. However, it is reported that the person was not a group assistant coach.
WBAL- Television reported that Eiswert’s behavior in the music clip at the time provoked a strong backlash and forced him to resign from his position as main while the tape was being investigated.
According to The Banner, the primary demanded police presence at his house and had received threatening communications after the false sound was widely distributed online.
According to the news channel, “the school management stated that workers did not feel safe, which required an increase in police presence at the school to address health issues and fears,” according to the police.
According to documents reviewed by PEOPLE, Darien and Shaena Ravenell, an English teacher who are accused of helping to spread the fabricated audio among school students, both submitted their resignations to the board of education earlier this month.
