The leader of the Americas for HTC Vive engaged in a discussion with Liz Claman regarding the VR devices’ training capabilities, while Liz expressed her intention to test out the Focus 3 device.

A tech startup, spearheaded by a former Apple employee, is introducing a new augmented reality (AR) glasses product to the market.

Based in Singapore, Brilliant Labs unveiled its latest offering, Frame, which comprises lightweight AR glasses promising wearers “AI superpowers” through their always-online virtual assistant, “Noa.” Supported by Niantic CEO John Hanke, the company was founded by Bobak Tavangar, a former program lead at Apple.

The Frame glasses, as described on the Beautiful Labs website, are designed to provide AI capabilities seamlessly integrated into a pair of glasses.

The glasses offer various functions, as showcased in a concept video, such as real-time visual analysis of the user’s surroundings during meals. Additionally, Frame can translate written text in multiple languages, perform online voice and visual searches, and project images onto a screen directly in front of the user.

Bobak Tavangar, CEO of Brilliant Labs, is depicted wearing the innovative Frame AR glasses, incorporating advanced AI models like Whisper talk reputation, text-to-image Stability Diffusion, GPT4 from OpenAI, and verbal web search by PerplexityAI, as reported by TechCrunch.

The Frame glasses, priced at $349, can be pre-ordered on Brilliant Labs’ website, with shipping scheduled to commence in April, according to Axios.

Competing with other AI-powered devices like Rabbit R1 and Humane’s AI Pin, Frame is the latest addition to Brilliant Labs’ lineup following the Monocle, an open-source single-lens MR system.

Apple’s Vision Pro, a premium MR product priced at $3,499.99, was unveiled last year, offering a seamless blend of digital content with the real world to deliver immersive spatial experiences through visionOS, controlled by natural inputs like the user’s eyes, hands, and voice, as highlighted by CEO Tim Cook.
