Microsoft has revealed a new feature called Voice Clarity, utilizing AI technology to enhance the video calling experience on Windows 11. Initially exclusive to Surface devices, this feature is now accessible to all users and has been introduced in the latest Canary build for Windows 11.
The Voice Clarity feature, driven by sophisticated AI models, aims to diminish background noise, minimize reverberation, and eliminate echoes in real time.
In a recent blog post, Microsoft described Voice Clarity as a cutting-edge AI-driven enhancement for audio on Windows. By leveraging advanced AI models with low complexity, Voice Clarity actively eliminates echoes, suppresses background noise, and diminishes reverberation in real time.
Microsoft emphasized that this feature is activated by default and can be utilized by applications that utilize Communications Signal Processing Mode, such as Phone Link and WhatsApp. Notably, no additional hardware is necessary, as Voice Clarity is compatible with x64 and Arm64 CPUs.
While particularly beneficial for frequent online meeting participants, Microsoft highlighted that the feature will also enrich the audio experience for PC gamers utilizing Communications Signal Processing Mode for online interactions.
Additional Features in Microsoft Canary Build:
The Canary Build of Windows 11 introduces several other enhancements, including the capability for users to access their most recent photos, screenshots, and pictures captured on their Android device within the Snipping Tool on Windows 11. Once activated, users will receive notifications on their PC whenever a new photo or screenshot is taken on their Android phone.
Furthermore, the latest build will commence adding support for the latest USB standard, USB 80Gbps, on selected devices powered by Intel Core 14th Gen HX-series mobile processors like the Razer Blade 18.
