Data productivity provider Matillion has introduced generative artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities to its primary Data Productivity Cloud through the utilization of Amazon Bedrock.
Amazon Bedrock, a fully managed service offered by Amazon Web Services (AWS), facilitates access to foundation models (FMs) developed by prominent AI companies via an API. This service enables the construction and expansion of generative AI applications.
As a longstanding AWS Advanced Tier Services Partner, Matillion has integrated generative AI with an interactive component that supports Amazon Bedrock. This integration allows users to effectively incorporate Large Language Models (LLMs) within their data pipelines to handle various intelligent data integration tasks, including data enrichment, data quality enhancement, and data classification.
Ciaran Dynes, Chief Product Officer at Matillion, emphasized the significance of integrating AI technologies into their product suite, enhancing clients’ data productivity through intelligent data integration tasks. He highlighted the seamless inclusion of AWS in this process, underscoring Amazon Bedrock’s capability to leverage foundational models like Anthropic Claude and Amazon Titan, thereby providing extensive opportunities for clients to extract insights from their data efficiently and at scale.
By introducing a graphical LLM prompt component to their toolkit, Matillion has enabled the implementation of no-code generative AI functionalities in data pipelines, effectively bridging the widening gap in data engineering skills.
Sam Hobbs from Principal Financial Group expressed optimism about the transformative potential of AI in revolutionizing work processes. Integrating LLMs into data pipelines is expected to unlock new levels of productivity and results for businesses.
Matillion unveiled its strategic vision for integrating generative AI technologies into pipelines and the Data Productivity Cloud during its recent user conference, Data Unlocked. The company continues to enhance its collaboration with AWS, having also launched Data Productivity Cloud on Amazon Redshift at AWS re:Invent 2023.
