The collaboration aims to enhance accessibility to distributed large language models by integrating the Internet Computer blockchain with the SingularityNET marketplace.
On November 20, 2023, a collaborative initiative was announced by ZURICH and AMSTERDAM in partnership with SingularityNET, the leading decentralized AI (DeAI) marketplace operating on the blockchain. The DFINITY Foundation (DINITY), a key contributor to the Internet Computer Blockchain (ICP), a non-profit research and development organization, plays a significant role in this initiative. Through the partnership between these two entities, all decentralized applications (dApps) built on the ICP will benefit from AI-based services.
While big language models (LLMs) and AI have demonstrated transformative potential across various industries, the current centralization of AI tools and services raises concerns regarding transparency in training data, leading to diminished trust in the outcomes. To tackle these challenges and provide AI and web3 developers access to a cryptocurrency capable of executing real DeAI, the joint program will integrate Internet Computer bitcoin into the SingularityNET infrastructure.
DeAI models operate entirely within smart contracts on ICP, ensuring that the training variables and sources of the LLMs are both open source and tamper-proof. The trustless system infrastructure of the SingularityNET Marketplace guarantees the transparency and validation of all published LLMs, connecting AI service providers with bitcoin application developers. By leveraging their respective expertise, the two companies empower developers to create advanced AI models on the cryptocurrency, with algorithms processing at a rate of 11,500 transactions per minute.
In a bid to foster community engagement and equip developers with the necessary tools to enhance DeAI projects using this innovative system, the two organizations will align their grant programs, including the Deep Funding DFINITY Developer Grant Program.
Dominic Williams, the chairman and chief scientist of the DFINITY Foundation, highlighted the Internet Computer’s role in hosting artificial intelligence on the cryptocurrency. The collaboration with SingularityNET presents an opportunity to advance the DeAI framework and realize their shared vision for the future.
DFINITY and SingularityNET are jointly enhancing AI Information Maps to bolster the resilience and clarity of LMMs on the cryptocurrency. By combining their expertise, these two prominent research and development teams aim to create a unified infrastructure of organized knowledge through specialized understanding graphs, enriching LLM and AI capabilities. The development of specialized knowledge graphs at the category level enables AI service providers to create more diverse and precise models, benefiting the entire industry.
Dr. Ben Goertzel, the CEO of SingularityNET, expressed his excitement about the partnership’s potential, emphasizing the rapid advancements in AI technology and the importance of making cutting-edge AI techniques accessible through decentralized networks. The collaboration between SingularityNET and DFINITY aims to democratize AI and AGI, contributing to the decentralization of AI technologies for the greater good of humanity.
Joint initiatives hosted by The DFINITY Foundation and SingularityNET will take place at ICP, including hackathons, workshops, and other events worldwide in the upcoming season.
