On this Super Bowl Sunday, Mark Wahlberg is promoting worship.
The actor and entrepreneur has lent his voice to Hallow, a Catholic app focusing on meditation, prayer, music, and sleep, which made its debut during Super Bowl 2024. Wahlberg, aged 52, has teamed up with Jonathan Roumie, recognized for his role as Jesus Christ in TBN’s The Chosen series, for this initiative.
In a preview of the advertisement, Wahlberg can be heard saying, “God, we take this moment.” The message also highlights the opportunity to participate in prayer alongside over 100 million individuals for the first time during the significant event.
The complete commercial is set to be broadcast during Super Bowl LVIII.
Hallow offers users the convenience of prayer-on-the-go and the ability to personalize their prayer experience through a unique daily prayer schedule. Users can also engage with loved ones and establish customized prayer communities on the app.
During an appearance on Today in February 2023, Wahlberg discussed the challenges of practicing Catholicism in the public sphere. Notably, he was seen with an ashen cross on his forehead for Ash Wednesday.
“It’s a fine line. I don’t wish to impose my beliefs on others, but I never shy away from my faith,” Wahlberg shared with Savannah Guthrie on Today. “That would be a greater sin.”
“While it may not be popular in my industry, I cannot deny my faith. Sharing it is crucial to me,” he added. “Yet, it’s equally important to show respect for my friends with diverse backgrounds and beliefs.”
In a collaborative effort with Lionsgate and the Best Friends Animal Society, Wahlberg featured in a public service announcement advocating for pet adoption on Sunday.
The video showcases Wahlberg alongside his furry companion Arthur the King, emphasizing the importance of adopting pets from shelters to provide them with loving homes across the nation.
Reflecting on his fitness routine at the LIV Golf Las Vegas Big Game Party, Wahlberg admitted to occasionally lacking motivation to work out, despite his disciplined regimen that historically began with 4 a.m. sessions.
Wahlberg disclosed his morning ritual of starting the day with a warm bath or immersing himself in 35-degree water to kickstart his workout motivation.
“I tell myself, ‘I’m alive. Let’s get after it,’” Wahlberg shared. “So I rise and put in the effort.”
While Wahlberg frequently showcases his workout sessions on social media, displaying his well-defined abs in videos, he emphasizes the significance of rest and recovery in maintaining a balanced fitness routine.
