Long live the king!
Introducing a groundbreaking new show that will resurrect the iconic rock legend through an AI hologram, the ongoing resurgence of Elvis Presley, sparked by Austin Butler’s acclaimed performance in the 2022 film “Elvis” and Jacob Elordi’s portrayal in Sofia Coppola’s recent drama “Priscilla,” shows no signs of waning.
Scheduled to potentially premiere in London in November 2024 at an undisclosed venue, 47 years after Presley’s untimely passing in 1977, “Elvis Evolution” aims to offer a truly unforgettable experience, as promised by its British producer, Layered Reality.
Described in a press release as a spectacle that will redefine the experience of witnessing Elvis for a new generation of fans, the show will blur the boundaries between reality and fantasy. A lifelike rendition of the modern-day Elvis will take the stage in the UK, performing his classic hits and signature moves for the very first time.
Building on Presley’s recent chart success with “Blue Christmas” reaching the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100, “Elvis Evolution” follows the footsteps of the popular London production “ABBA Voyage,” which utilizes digital avatars of the legendary “Dancing Queen” band members.
Promising an unparalleled journey through Elvis’s iconic milestones and pivotal moments, the AI-powered program is set to captivate audiences worldwide, starting with its London debut and subsequent tour stops in Las Vegas, Berlin, and Tokyo, as announced by Layered Reality’s CEO, Andrew McGuinness.
McGuinness envisions the show, featuring an array of Presley’s personal photos and home videos, as an immersive experience that will transport audiences into the heart of Elvis’s extraordinary life story, allowing them to truly understand his journey.
As the world awaits the release of Baz Luhrmann’s “Elvis” on Netflix, the upcoming Golden Globe Awards will see Cailee Spaeny nominated for Best Actress in an Action Picture-Drama for her portrayal of Priscilla Presley, coinciding with the recent passing of Elvis’s daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, who made her final public appearance at last year’s Golden Globes.
