### AI-Powered Autopilot Technology at Heritage Grocers

The software uses machine learning to offer insights into shopper behavior

Heritage Grocers Group, a collection of Hispanic-focused grocery stores, has integrated RSA America’s AI-powered Autopilot systems into its technical infrastructure.

At the National Grocers Association show in Las Vegas in March, Autopilot technology was unveiled, offering valuable insights into customer behavior and providing retailers with recommendations regarding their information resources.

According to a press release, the system’s capabilities allow for the execution of tailored, automated campaigns based on individual consumer preferences and purchase histories. This innovative approach aims to streamline marketing strategies and enhance customer interaction.

For example, if a specific brand of cereal is gaining popularity within the store, Autopilot systems will promptly alert the retailer and suggest promoting the item. Additionally, it may offer recommendations regarding the supply chain, such as advising the purchase of more of the popular cereal or even proposing a similar alternative that is also well-received but currently underperforming.

In an interview with Supermarket News, Ravi Achanta, the CEO of RSA America, highlighted how the technology can facilitate more effective communication with Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) companies.

By leveraging Autopilot, customers can familiarize themselves with CPG brands and discover discounts on favored products.

Achanta emphasized the significance of personalized promotions based on consumer preferences, noting that inundating customers with generic offers can lead to disengagement. Tailored promotions, on the other hand, are more likely to capture attention and drive sales.

Prabash Coswatte, the COO of Heritage Grocers Group, manages 114 stores across six states: California, Texas, Nevada, Arizona, Kansas, and Illinois. These stores operate under various banners, including Cardenas Markets, El Rancho Supermercado, Tony’s Fresh Market, and Los Altos Ranch Market.

As the food chain continues to enhance its technological infrastructure by updating and expanding its systems, the partnership with RSA remains a strategic choice.

Coswatte expressed the group’s commitment to leveraging data insights efficiently, aiming to access recommendations promptly and facilitate decision-making processes for promotional activities.
