The Search Generative Experience differs from a traditional Google search due to its utilization of AI systems. Customers can access this feature in Search Labs on the Google app, the Google Home section, or Chrome desktops.

Enhancements to the feature, particularly in the realm of shopping, will roll out on November 16. Users can input search queries such as “best products for home chefs” to discover relevant products or experiences like cooking classes.

Black noted that 28% of individuals struggle with holiday shopping because they lack direction on where to begin their search.

The search results may also include editorial content from producers, providing customers with additional insights into products or topics.

Virtual Clothing Try-On for Diverse Body Types

Google initially introduced a digital try-on option for women’s tops earlier this year and is now extending this feature to men’s clothing.

Black emphasized the role of Generative AI in bringing clothing to life virtually and helping users visualize how a garment would appear on them.

Research by Google indicates that 80% of online apparel shoppers are more inclined to make a purchase if they can visualize how the clothing will fit them.

Starting November 16, brands like Abercrombie & Fitch, Banana Republic, and J.Crew will offer men’s tops with a virtual try-on feature. The platform will include a diverse video library showcasing male and female models of various sizes, body types, cultures, hairstyles, and skin tones.

Innovative Image Generation Feature Coming in December

A new feature set to launch in December will leverage AI to create realistic images based on user-entered search terms, enabling users to find products visually.

This functionality will be integrated with Google’s extensive database of 35 billion shopping ads.

Black highlighted the convenience of transitioning from conceptualizing a product to virtually exploring and adding it to the shopping cart rapidly.
