Writers have been granted access to NVIDIA Founders Edition accounts for some of the latest GPUs. The SUPER RTX 4070 and 4080 SUPER are among the models set to receive this special treatment.
The anticipated cost of the SUPER RTX 4080 is \(999, marking a significant \)2,000 reduction from the launch price of its non-Super counterpart with the same model number. Rumors suggest that the RTX 4080.S and 4070TiS could potentially replace the existing models in NVIDIA’s product lineup. Notably, the updated table no longer includes links to these specific SKUs.
On the other hand, the SUPER Ti RTX 4070 is expected to take over from the non-Super version of the model at a price point of \(799. Meanwhile, the SUPER RTX 4070 is projected to be priced at \)599 concurrently with the updated MSRP of $599 for the current non-Super model.
Prices for GeForce RTX 40 Excellent, from NVIDIA
NVIDIA’s focus on matrix cores, ray tracing, and shader performance over CUDA core specifications has been evident. The SUPER RTX 4080 is slated to feature 16GB of GDDR6X memory clocked at 23 Gbps, 10240 CUDA cores, and a Total Graphics Power (TGP) of 320W. Despite this, NVIDIA claims that the card will only require around 246W during gameplay and 15W at idle. Marketed as offering “4K Full RT Gaming and Super-Fast Gen AI,” this card is expected to deliver double the performance compared to its predecessor. The SUPER RTX 4080 will be available for purchase starting January 31.
Conversely, the SUPER Ti RTX 4070 will sport 16GB of GDDR6X memory and 8448 CUDA cores. With a TGP of 285W, the card is estimated to consume 226W during typical gaming scenarios and 12W at idle. The standout feature of this SKU is the memory upgrade, although it’s important to note that this enhancement is related to DLSS Frame Generation support in certain applications. Despite NVIDIA’s claim that the SUPER Ti RTX 4070 will offer “2.5x the performance of LTX 3070 Ti,” this information may be misleading. The official release date for the SUPER Ti RTX 4070 is January 24.
