Samsung hosted an Unpacked event to introduce a significant smartphone revelation. Introducing the latest additions to the Galaxy lineup: the all-new Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra.

However, Samsung had more surprises up its sleeve. The company unveiled Galaxy AI, a collection of AI-driven tools tailored to complement the trio of cutting-edge phones. Additionally, Samsung introduced a completely new product.

Here’s a comprehensive overview of Samsung Unpacked.

Galaxy AI

The true highlight of Samsung Unpacked wasn’t just the new Galaxy S series but the introduction of Galaxy AI.

Galaxy AI introduces a range of AI-powered functionalities to Samsung’s latest phones and select other Android devices.

One of the showcased features is real-time voice translations during calls. Users can view text translations on-screen and listen to an AI voice translating the call verbally. AI translations also extend to text messages, automatically translating both sent and received texts.

Samsung demonstrated its new AI-driven mobile translation capabilities, showcasing features like enhancing messy handwriting for neater notes and utilizing Note Assist to format notes into concise summaries and bullet points seamlessly.

Moreover, Samsung presented new AI photo and video features including AI-powered HDR, nightography, and video stabilization. The collaboration with Instagram brought HDR-enabled photos to the platform.

A standout AI feature is the AI generations within the image editor. These features allow for filling in out-of-frame visuals and objects within images using AI. When using these features, Samsung adds a watermark and metadata label to denote AI-generated content.

Samsung collaborated with YouTube star MrBeast to exhibit the ultra zoom on the new Samsung Galaxy S24 camera and the AI’s efficiency in editing photos. The demonstration also highlighted Samsung’s Quickshare feature, enabling swift transfer of full-resolution images and files across Android devices and PCs.

In addition to its proprietary AI, Samsung partnered with Google to integrate the search giant’s AI models into Samsung and other Android devices.

A significant announcement from Google was the introduction of Circle to Search. This feature, available on the Samsung Galaxy S24 series and select Android devices, allows users to initiate searches by circling, highlighting, scribbling, or tapping an object on their screen. Users can perform searches using text, photos, or videos displayed on their device, simplifying tasks like finding products online.

Samsung also revealed that many of its AI features, such as translations, will seamlessly integrate with Google’s phone-to-car service, Android Auto.

Galaxy S24 Ultra

The flagship model of Samsung’s smartphone lineup, the Galaxy S24 Ultra, stands out as the most powerful model yet.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile chipset, known for its exceptional speed. With a 6.8-inch size and a QHD display, the device features four rear-facing cameras, including a 200MP wide camera and a 50MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom. The Galaxy S24 Ultra offers storage options of 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB, all equipped with 12GB of memory.

Priced starting at $1299, the Galaxy S24 Ultra promises top-tier performance and advanced camera capabilities.

Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+

The Galaxy S24 and S24+ models, more budget-friendly alternatives in Samsung’s Galaxy S series, have also undergone upgrades.

Powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, both models feature three rear cameras and a front-facing camera. The Galaxy S24 boasts a 6.2-inch FHD display, while the S24+ offers a slightly larger 6.7-inch QHD+ display.

The Galaxy S24 comes with 8GB of memory across all storage variants, while the S24+ offers 12GB of memory in both its 256GB and 512GB versions. With competitive pricing starting at \(799 for the Galaxy S24 and \)999 for the S24+, these models provide a balance of performance and affordability.
