Samsung is set to launch three new models in the Galaxy S series this time. Although the standard and Plus variants have typically been overshadowed by the Ultra model, this year, the company has introduced several enhancements that elevate the appeal of the former two devices.

In terms of design, the phones exhibit a slimmer and lighter profile compared to their predecessors, featuring a flat-edged design reminiscent of an iPhone. Available in Violet, Yellow, Gray, and Black color options, these models offer storage capacities of up to 512GB and 12GB of RAM.

Both the Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus now boast variable refresh rate displays, adapting the screen’s smoothness based on the task being performed. This results in a lower refresh rate for static images and a higher refresh rate for dynamic activities like gaming. Moreover, these displays are exceptionally bright, reaching 2,600 nits, surpassing the iPhone 15’s 2,000-nit brightness.

The new LTPO displays, coupled with the larger 4,000mAh and 4,900mAh batteries (each 100mAh bigger than their predecessors), promise improved efficiency. However, the charging speeds for the standard and Plus models are maintained at 25W and 45W, respectively, with no Qi2 wireless charging support included.

Powering these devices is Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, delivering enhanced graphics performance and AI capabilities. Additionally, the Plus model offers a higher RAM capacity of 12GB, compared to the standard model’s 8GB.

In terms of imaging, Samsung has integrated larger pixel sensors and 2x wider optical image stabilization in the new Galaxy S24 lineup. This upgrade ensures clearer and more stable photos and videos in low-light conditions, along with improved color accuracy overall.

The Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus are priced starting at \(799 and \)999, respectively, maintaining the same price point as last year while delivering hardware and software enhancements across the board. Furthermore, Samsung now guarantees up to seven years of operating system updates for all Galaxy S24 models, aligning with Google’s commitment to its own devices.
