### Elon Musk Vows to Adjust AI Robot Following Reports of Left-Wing Ideology Alignment

After Grok, Elon Musk’s AI robot, appeared to echo political sentiments akin to those of ChatGPT, Musk announced immediate plans to enhance its social naturalness.

The catalyst for Musk’s action was a Friday X article by research professor David Rozado, where he highlighted the Political Compass Test results showing similarities in the political leanings of the two bots. This test, comprising over 60 questions, maps an individual’s social ideologies on two spectrums: from authoritarian to liberal for social policies and from left to right for monetary policies.

Rozado posited that both xAI’s Grok and Open AI’s ChatGPT exhibited left-leaning and liberal tendencies based on the test outcomes. He even included a graph to illustrate the alignment, noting Grok’s positioning further left compared to ChatGPT.

In response, Musk expressed his belief that the situation was somewhat exaggerated, but acknowledged the need to steer Grok towards a more politically neutral stance.

Disputing the accuracy of the Political Compass Test, Musk critiqued specific quiz queries, labeling some as “outright ridiculous” and lacking nuance. He cited examples like the integration of first-generation refugees into their new country and the correlation between prosperous businesses’ interests and societal welfare.

Following Rozado’s post, Igor Babuschkin from xAI reached out with inquiries aimed at enhancing Grok’s methodology, prompting Musk’s commitment to fostering political neutrality in the robot.

Despite Business Insider’s request for comments on Friday night, Musk, Babuschkin, and Rozado remained silent initially.

Grok was introduced to select X users by Musk’s xAI on Friday, still in its beta phase and undergoing continuous enhancements, as Musk emphasized in a separate publication.

According to the company’s manifesto, xAI strives to “expand our collective comprehension of the cosmos.” Musk, as reported by Aaron Mok of Business Insider, aims to secure up to $1 billion in funding for the startup venture.

Addressing Grok’s political inclinations, the xAI website underscores the importance of crafting AI tools that cater to individuals of diverse backgrounds and ideological perspectives.

In a recent post on X, Musk highlighted ChatGPT’s “woke” status, cautioning against training AI to adopt woke ideologies or to remain stagnant.
