“I appreciate the exposure of Google’s excessive use of their AI image generation technology, which has brought to light their controversial and divisive programming,” mentioned Elon Musk in a recent post on X.

  • Google made the decision to halt the image generation feature of Gemini due to negative feedback labeling it as “woke.”
  • Elon Musk expressed his satisfaction with Google’s misstep in pushing the boundaries with their AI image generation.
  • Musk criticized Google for implementing what he referred to as “extreme racist and anti-civilizational programming” in their AI algorithms.

Elon Musk has taken a confrontational stance against Google, not mincing words in his recent critiques.

Following Google’s temporary suspension of Gemini’s image generation feature, Musk took to X to voice his disapproval. This move came after users criticized the feature as being too politically correct.

“I appreciate the exposure of Google’s excessive use of their AI image generation technology, which has brought to light their controversial and divisive programming,” Elon Musk stated in one of his recent X posts.

In an earlier statement released on Wednesday, Google acknowledged the inaccuracies in historical image depictions generated by Gemini. The company admitted that Gemini was not meeting expectations and assured prompt improvements.

A subsequent statement by Google on Thursday promised the release of an enhanced version in the near future.

Despite Google’s efforts to address the situation, Musk remained unsatisfied.

On Thursday, the Tesla magnate directed his criticism towards Jack Krawczyk, the product lead for Gemini. Krawczyk previously emphasized that Gemini’s image generation capabilities aimed to represent the diverse user base.

“I am not singling out an individual randomly. This person significantly contributes to the perceived racial and gender biases in Google’s AI,” Musk emphasized on X.

Moreover, Musk highlighted his concerns about censorship tendencies in Google search results, pointing out the top choices as biased towards censorship.

This incident adds to Musk’s history of condemning companies for what he views as flawed diversity and inclusion practices. He has previously scrutinized other AI organizations, such as Sam Altman’s OpenAI, in favor of X’s AI project, Grok.

Representatives from Google have not responded to requests for comments from Business Insider outside of regular business hours.
