Elon Musk revealed his own artificial intelligence bot to challenge ChatGPT, claiming the prototype…

Data from Elon Musk’s company X is being utilized to advance the creation of Grok.

Elon Musk has introduced his own AI application to rival ChatGPT, asserting that it has already surpassed the model by 3.5 points across various metrics. This AI innovation is currently undergoing testing with a select group of US users and marks the inaugural venture of Musk’s xAI business. Named Grok, this AI system is leveraging insights from Musk’s company X, previously known as Twitter, ensuring its information is more current compared to competing bots that rely on static datasets. Described as responsive with a touch of humor and a rebellious streak, Grok aims to set itself apart in the AI landscape.

Earlier this year, Musk was among the signatories of a plea advocating for a pause in AI model development to prioritize the establishment of universal safety protocols. Despite acknowledging the futility of the endeavor, Musk expressed his intention to contribute to the discourse.

During the UK’s AI Safety Summit last year, industry experts and scientists deliberated on the perils of AI technology, coinciding with US President Joe Biden’s recent executive order on AI oversight to define security and privacy standards.

The announcement regarding xAI reveals that Grok has been in development for two decades and will eventually be accessible to all X Premium + customers post the testing phase. Musk envisions transitioning X from a basic social platform to offering ephemeral apps akin to Tencent Holding Ltd.’s Twitter in China. While xAI operates as a distinct entity, it emphasizes close collaboration with X, Tesla, and other enterprises, positioning Grok as a pivotal component in this ecosystem.
