DOJ Seeking Details on Upgrading Internal Website with Potential AI Capabilities | FedScoop
According to the Department of Justice (DOJ), the internal website DOJNet, utilized by employees, has not undergone a significant transformation since 2015.
The Justice Management Division of the Department of Justice has issued a request for information regarding potential new software systems for internal staff communication.
The DOJ aims to revamp its existing domestic website, DOJNet, and introduce Justice Hub as part of a broader strategic initiative. The upcoming program is expected to adhere to the guidelines set forth by the 21st Century Integrated Digital Experience Act and the U.S. Web Design System. The Department envisions leveraging artificial intelligence to personalize user experiences, deliver tailored content, incorporate unified search functionalities, ensure smart readiness, and comply with Section 508 accessibility standards.
Various government agencies, such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Drug Enforcement Administration, currently utilize DOJNet for internal communication. However, it has become challenging to navigate and utilize effectively.
DOJNet has served as the primary internet platform for the Department, offering a centralized hub for information dissemination, file sharing, database access, scheduling tools, and training materials. Despite its pivotal role, the website has not undergone significant updates since 2015, resulting in a lack of tools and features essential for enhancing productivity, fostering collaboration, and ensuring mobile compatibility.
