He expressed astonishment at the swift adoption of this technology, emphasizing that Google had long been gearing up for such rapid advancements in the development and integration of AI systems.

Sundar Pichai’s Response to a Question: ‘Yes and no’

When asked about his achievements since assuming the CEO role, Pichai cryptically responded, “Yes and no,” hinting at his focus on developing AI technologies that will be pivotal in the coming decade.

Regarding the transition of accounts involuntarily from an old job to a new one, he elaborated, “We have been contemplating this scenario for an extended period, always maintaining a strong strategic vision. However, the widespread adoption of technology by society, be it consumers, businesses, or governments, has indeed been surprising. This widespread embrace of technology has been quite remarkable.”

Sundar Pichai’s Positive Surprises with AI

Pichai further emphasized that the “positive shock” he experiences is rooted in the timing of these advancements. He acknowledged the extensive research and development efforts invested in AI over the years, positioning Google well for the future landscape.
