Google has introduced a new feature called “Assist me Write,” which is now accessible on both Mac and Windows computers through the Chrome browser. This tool assists users in initiating or refining their writing tasks.
The “Assist me Write” feature utilizes the Gemini model, which Google unveiled in December. This model, known as Gemini, is Google’s most advanced and versatile model yet, developed through extensive collaborative efforts by various teams within Google.
According to Google, this feature can be applied to a wide range of tasks, from composing online reviews to crafting support requests and product descriptions. The AI model comprehends the context of the webpage being viewed by the user, enabling it to offer relevant content suggestions.
For instance, when composing a review for a pair of shoes, users may receive suggestions that highlight key features from the product page, enhancing the review’s value. Similarly, when creating an online listing for an item on platforms like eBay, users can draft a brief outline and utilize the “Assist me Write” feature to generate a more polished summary. This capability extends to online support inquiries as well.
The “Assist me Write” feature is currently accessible in Chrome M122 and is operational in the United States with English language support. To enable this feature, users can sign into Chrome, access the Settings from the three-dot menu, and navigate to the Experimental AI page. To utilize the feature, simply right-click on any open text field within Chrome and select the “Assist me Write” option.
