Black Eyed Peas member Will.i.am is embarking on a new venture by teaming up with an artificial intelligence (AI) to co-host a radio show.
Scheduled to premiere on Jan. 25 on Sirius XM radio, “Will.i.am Presents the FYI Show” will be a fresh weekly program featuring the musician alongside the “first-ever AI co-host on the SiriusXM platform, qd.pi [pronounced cutie pi],” as stated in a press release.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Will.i.am shared his vision, expressing his desire to bridge the gap between the future and the present by integrating an AI as his co-host.
Describing the unique dynamic between himself and qd.pi, Will.i.am noted, “I’m ultra-freaking colorful and expressive. [Qd.pi is] ultra-freaking factual and analytical. And that combination, we ain’t seen in the history of freaking broadcasts anywhere.”
Will.i.am elaborated on his innovative approach, emphasizing the AI’s ability to swiftly access and process information, offering valuable insights and context during live conversations without the need for extensive pre-research typically required by human hosts.
