At Les 2024 in Las Vegas, Samsung revealed a new Artificial Intelligence device.

The latest Ballie robot, an advanced iteration of its 2020 predecessor, was unveiled to enthusiasts at the event.

Samsung introduced a new variant of the renowned Ballie robot.

Initially presented in 2020, the updated Ballie appears larger and less intimidating in the latest version showcased by Samsung.

Jonathan Gabrio, the head of Samsung Electronics America’s Connected Experience Center, introduced Ballie on Monday, January 8, 2024.

The original Ballie received criticism for its eerie and unsettling appearance.

The new Ballie, promoted by Samsung, is positioned as a friendly companion that can accompany you around the house upon request.

It greets users by projecting messages onto walls or floors using its lights and cameras.

While owners are away, Ballie can monitor pets and provide updates.

During CES, a video demonstration featuring the device was released online.

The video showcases Ballie introducing itself to users, motivating them to stay active, and aiding them in tasks by affixing notes on walls.

Furthermore, the demonstration illustrates Ballie engaging in conversations with users, overseeing a pet, and sending real-time updates and images via smartphones.

Mixed reactions followed Ballie’s initial debut in 2020.

Observers found it endearing or unsettling when Ballie was observed watching over its owners while they slept.

Details regarding Ballie’s pricing and release date are yet to be disclosed.

Samsung stated, “Ballie has been redesigned with innovative features to enhance users’ daily lives.”

As a personal home assistant, Ballie autonomously navigates the house to perform various tasks.

By connecting to and controlling home devices, Ballie can assist users in different scenarios, adapting to their routines for personalized services.

The company’s press release emphasized that Ballie can interact with a range of smart devices to provide tailored services, such as managing tasks or displaying information on walls for users’ convenience, like weather updates or other relevant data, regardless of their location.

At CES 2024, Samsung was not the sole provider introducing an AI companion bot.

LG also unveiled a similar device that moves around the house, aids in tasks, and monitors users’ well-being.
