– Brave’s AI Assistant Now Available for Android Users

If you’ve come to depend on AI (or you just want to see what it’s all about), the Brave…

Leo, the artificial intelligence-driven assistant of Brave, resembles other AI tools in appearance and behavior. It offers a wide range of functionalities such as answering queries, site adaptation, topic research, and more.

Initially launched on the desktop version of the Brave website in November 2023, Leo comes in two variants: the free version and Leo Premium. The premium version provides access to faster and more robust Big Language Models (LLMs) with enhanced capabilities.

For users primarily utilizing Android devices, Brave has ensured compatibility by integrating the new Artificial admin into the latest version available on the Google Play Store. This ensures that Brave’s Leo AI is accessible and free to use with the latest updates.

The primary LLM utilized by Brave, known as Mixtral 2x7B, also grants access to Claude Instant and Meta’s Llama 2 13B. Opting for a different LLM requires a premium subscription priced at $15 per month.

In terms of privacy, Brave emphasizes that user data security is a top priority for Brave Leo. Conversations with Leo are kept private and secure, with Leo refraining from storing messages for training purposes or requiring any user accounts or passwords.

To uphold user privacy, Leo employs a rotating proxy, discards messages from Brave servers, operates without the need for registration, and supports unlinkable currencies for the Premium version.

Accessing Leo within Brave is straightforward: simply open the browser, click on the three-dot menu, and select Leo. The minimum version of Brave required for Leo on Android is 1.63, which can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.
