### Enhancing AI Capabilities: AMD Unveils Ryzen8000-Series Chips Upgrade

AMD is launching new 5000-series CPUs as well.

No long after AMD unveiled new AI-focused silicon, the company has made another significant announcement. AMD has now introduced its Ryzen 8000-series desktop processors during CES 2024. Similar to the Radish 8040 smart APU series unveiled in December, these processors are specifically designed, as per AMD’s statement, to enhance AI capabilities.

Leading the pack is the top-tier $329 Zen 7 8700G, featuring eight Zen 4 cores, 16 threads, and a boost clock of up to 5.1GHz. This processor is equipped with AMD’s flagship Radeon 780M integrated graphics based on RDNA 3 architecture, along with an XDNA neural processing unit (NPU) that enables AI-driven features in various applications such as Zoom, Grinder, Adobe, and more.

In terms of integrated graphics performance, AMD claims that the chip delivers four times higher average frame rates in Hitman 3 and 3.3 times higher in Dota 2 at 1080p resolution and lower detail settings compared to Intel’s Core i7-14700K. Furthermore, AMD asserts that the Ryzen 7 8700G outperforms the Intel Core i5-13400F and Nvidia GeForce 1650 in games like Starfield and Alan Wake 2 under similar configurations.

In addition to the Ryzen 7 8700G, AMD also unveiled the \(229 Ryzen 58600G, featuring six Zen 4 cores, 12 threads, and a boost clock of up to 5.0GHz. This APU includes dedicated Nvidia hardware for AI tasks and a slightly less powerful 760M integrated GPU. AMD is also introducing the Ryzen 5 8500G (\)179) and Ryzen 3 8300G processors, with the latter exclusively available for pre-built systems.

The 8000-series processors are not the only ones introduced by AMD at CES. The company also revealed a range of processors based on the older Zen 3 architecture, such as the Ryzen 7 5700X3D priced at \(249. This CPU lacks integrated graphics, supports the older AM4 socket, and features eight cores, 16 threads, with a maximum boost clock of up to 4.1GHz. Accompanying this is the \)175 Zen 7 5700, with a maximum boost clock of 4.6GHz and a lower TDP of 65W compared to the 105W TDP of the Ryzen 7 5700X3D.

Furthermore, AMD introduced the new AMD Ryzen 5 5600GT (\(140) and AMD 5 500GT (\)125) processors, both utilizing Zen 3 architecture and featuring integrated AMD Radeon graphics. The infographic provided above displays a comprehensive list of specifications and performance comparisons with AMD’s other offerings. Both the AMD 8000 and 5000 series chips will be available starting January 31, 2024.
