There is new security implemented at Ball Arena, albeit with a slightly unconventional appearance. Evolv Technology has collaborated with Kroenke Sports to introduce Evolve Express screening technology at nine entry points across Ball Arena. This innovative system utilizes artificial intelligence to identify weapons during the screening process, effectively distinguishing them from commonly carried items.

Colorado has been reaping significant benefits since the legalization of sports betting three years ago. The Colorado Rapids have already integrated this advanced technology at their venue, DICK’S Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, joining 40 other professional sports facilities across the United States. According to John Baier, Vice President of Evolv, the AI-powered system goes beyond merely detecting metal; it is designed to enhance safety measures and overall guest experience.

Prior to the implementation of Evolv Express technology, Ball Arena relied on traditional metal detectors at its entrances. The new system operates at a faster pace, allowing attendees to pass through smoothly and reducing wait times significantly.

Austin McKenna, the Executive Director of Safety and Security at Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, expressed satisfaction with the partnership with Evolv, emphasizing the positive outcomes observed in Denver and Los Angeles. McKenna highlighted the paramount importance of safety for both patrons and staff members, noting the swift adoption of the technology following approval by the NBA and NHL.

The installation of this cutting-edge technology at Ball Arena took place in the autumn, just before the commencement of the NBA and NHL seasons.
