### Leveraging AI, Nvidia Surpasses Facebook in Tech Market as Microsoft Overtakes Apple

Meta has yet to go above $1 trillion, despite recently pivoting to generative AI

The largest technology conglomerates globally have collectively surged by over \(1 trillion in valuation, primarily attributed to investments and progressions in generative AI technology, surpassing a combined valuation of \)10 trillion.

However, the outlook is not universally positive, with Meta, previously known as Facebook, transitioning to AI technology following setbacks in its metaverse initiative. As of the current assessment, Meta’s valuation stands at \(937.85 billion, falling short of the \)1 trillion mark.

These tech titans, which encompass Microsoft, Apple, Google, Amazon, and Nvidia, all boast valuations exceeding $1 trillion, as per the most recent market capitalization data available on Google Finance. This achievement was exceptionally rare until Apple broke this barrier in 2018, becoming the first Silicon Valley entity to do so.

In the realm of artificial intelligence advancement, Apple, renowned for being the first U.S. company to reach \(2 trillion and subsequently \)3 trillion, currently holds a valuation of $2.81 trillion, slightly trailing behind Microsoft. While Apple has yet to formally unveil concrete AI integrations, speculations abound regarding its development of a proprietary generative AI model slated for incorporation into its product line later this year.

At present, Microsoft reigns as the most valuable tech giant with a valuation of $2.88 trillion, bolstered by substantial investments in OpenAI and the seamless integration of large language models (LLMs) such as GPT-4 across an extensive array of offerings, ranging from the Windows 11 operating system to the iconic MS Paint application.

Google, valued at $1.77 trillion, recently introduced its Gemini AI series, featuring an on-device variant named Gemini Nano anticipated to debut in the forthcoming Pixel 8 Pro smartphone. This initiative follows Google’s initial stumble in the AI domain with Google Bard.

Amazon, valued at $1.56 trillion, owes a portion of its valuation surge to the integration of generative AI within its services, particularly enhancing its advertising and e-commerce capabilities.

Nvidia, pivotal in catalyzing the recent surge of interest in generative AI, continues to maintain a valuation of $1.38 trillion. Its cutting-edge components, including the H200 and H100 graphics cards, are highly sought after by enterprises worldwide seeking to capitalize on this burgeoning trend.

Contrastingly, Meta’s strategic focus on the metaverse amidst the industry-wide pivot towards generative AI has led to a recent shift towards AI technology. This shift culminated in the cessation of 20 distinct experimental trials aimed at optimizing its services. While belated, Meta’s foray into this domain signals a potential uptick in its valuation, albeit the extent of this growth relative to its industry counterparts remains uncertain.
