This year, Ricky Schroder expressed his concerns about synthetic intelligence-generated pornography, referring to it as a “dangerous road to get over.”
In a recent discussion with Fox News Digital, the “Silver Spoons” actor, despite not being an AI expert, emphasized his apprehensions regarding the creation of pornographic content using AI technology to depict realistic individuals. He stated, “I believe that’s a risky road to take.”
As a founding member of the Council on Pornography Reform (CPR), Schroder emphasized the necessity of enacting legislation to regulate the utilization of AI in the pornographic industry.
“One of our primary objectives at the Council on Pornographic Reform is to exert some influence over AI-generated sexual content,” Schroder added.
AI-generated sexual content was labeled as a “dangerous road to get along” by Ricky Schroder, as reported by Fox Digital News.
Some individuals, as mentioned by the 53-year-old actor, argue that viewing AI-generated videos, even involving minors, is not harmful since there is no actual victim. Schroder rebutted this notion, stating, “I disagree. The viewer is the victim because they are the ones impacted. After consuming AI content, the viewer reintegrates into society and interacts with all of us. Hence, I consider it a perilous and harmful tool.”
By advocating for changes in the realm of explicit adult content, CPR aims to foster a safer and more reliable digital environment.
Furthermore, Schroder is affiliated with the Reel American Heroes Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to producing films, documentaries, and television programs that uphold patriotic and traditional principles.
Schroder revealed to Fox News Digital that the Reel American Heroes Foundation is actively involved in initiatives aligned with the goals of the Council on Pornography Reform and is presently working on a documentary titled “Erotic Erosion.”
“We are developing a video that delves into the detrimental impacts of the proliferation of online sexual content over the past 45 years,” Schroder remarked. He highlighted the transition of online sexual content from the .xxx domain to a different platform due to various reasons, emphasizing the objective of consolidating all adult material under a single .xxx URL for better monitoring—a key focus of the Council on Pornography Reform.
In his acting debut in the 1979 film “The Champ,” Schroder shared that he never felt like he belonged in Hollywood. He underscored the significance of maintaining a connection with faith, advising his younger self not to lose sight of the Lord, as it can be easy to overlook spiritual beliefs in the glitz and glamour of the entertainment industry.
