### Leveraging AI for Speech Generation in GTA Publication: A Promising Avenue for Enhanced Engagement and Joy

According to Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Consider-Two, there is a possibility that Grand Theft Auto 6 could incorporate conceptual AI technology. Zelnick highlighted the potential of AI in game development, specifically focusing on Non-Playable Characters (NPCs), during the Paley International Council Summit on November 7.

Traditionally, interactions with NPCs in games are predetermined, which Zelnick described as lacking excitement. He suggested that by utilizing AI to generate dialogue options and enhance complexity, interactions could become more engaging and enjoyable.

Zelnick acknowledged that while Generative AI might offer superior results, it is unlikely to be more efficient or cost-effective. This stance aligns with his previous comments expressing a guarded optimism towards advancements in AI within the gaming industry.

Regarding the potential impact of a strike by video game actors affiliated with SAG-AFTRA on GTA 6, Zelnick reassured that the game’s development is well-protected against any delays. Despite recent discussions within the union, including authorization for a strike, Take-Two, along with other companies, engaged in negotiations with SAG-AFTRA. Ultimately, a tentative agreement was reached with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, ensuring unprecedented measures for compensation and protection against AI-related threats for SAG-AFTRA members.

While Take-Two has neither confirmed nor denied the use of AI in GTA 6, Microsoft’s collaboration with Inworld AI for the development of various AI tools for Xbox studios, such as an “AI personality execution engine” and an “AI design copilot,” indicates a growing interest in AI integration in gaming. Notably, the AI-powered update Sentient Streets for GTA 5, enabling dynamic NPC interactions, was created by Bloc in partnership with Inworld AI.
