Samsung Expands Global Reach of Mobile AI with Galaxy AI Integration on Earlier Models
Samsung Electronics unveiled the introduction of Galaxy AI features to a wider range of Galaxy devices through the new One UI 6.1 update, aimed at democratizing mobile AI. This update will be accessible on the Galaxy S23 series, S23 FE, Z Fold5, Z Flip5, and Tab S9 series, with the rollout commencing by the end of March. In alignment with the recent launch of the Galaxy S24 series, this update enhances users’ mobile AI experience by blending on-device and cloud-based AI technologies.

The goal is to extend the Galaxy AI experience to over 100 million Galaxy users by 2024, exploring innovative ways to leverage the vast potential of mobile AI.
Breaking Communication Barriers
A larger user base will now have access to the communication-enhancing Galaxy AI features previously limited to AI-supported models. These features include adjusting message tones and translating messages in 13 languages using Chat Assist. Users can engage in real-time interactions through Live Translate, offering voice and text translations during phone calls. Additionally, the Interpreter feature facilitates spontaneous conversations by providing text translations for live discussions, enhancing travel experiences.
Unmatched Productivity
The expanded integration of Galaxy AI across the Galaxy ecosystem ensures a seamless user experience for day-to-day tasks on AI-supported models, boosting efficiency levels. Search functionalities are enhanced with Circle to Search with Google, enabling intuitive search results through a simple circle gesture. Productivity tools like Note Assist facilitate note creation, summarization, and translation, while Browsing Assist accelerates information absorption by generating comprehensive news article summaries. Transcript Assist simplifies meeting transcriptions and offers summary and translation capabilities.
Unleashing Creative Potential
Samsung’s Galaxy AI aims to unleash users’ creative potential by offering a suite of tools that foster creativity even after capturing a photo. Through Generative Edit, AI-supported devices can effortlessly adjust photo elements for a perfect shot. Edit Suggestion streamlines photo editing tasks, eliminating the need for multiple shots, while Instant Slow-mo generates additional frames for dynamic slow-motion videos.
The creativity journey extends to device customization with AI-generated wallpapers, allowing users to personalize their AI-supported devices effortlessly.
