– Nvidia CEO Calls for “Royal Artificial” as Company Overtakes Amazon in Market Share

Driven by AI boom, the two companies are neck-and-neck behind Apple, Microsoft, and Google.

According to Reuters, Jensen Huang, the CEO of Nvidia, emphasized the importance of nations controlling their own AI technology to preserve their cultural identity. He introduced the concept of “Royal AI,” where each nation possesses “the production of their personal brains,” as outlined in a Nvidia blog post.

During the World Governments Summit in Dubai, Huang engaged in a conversation with Omar Al Olama, the UAE’s Minister of AI, highlighting the significance of data ownership. He stated, “You own your own data; it codifies your lifestyle, society’s intelligence, popular sense, and history.”

The World Governments Summit is described as a “global, natural, non-profit organization dedicated to shaping the future of administrations,” attracting over 4,000 representatives from 150 countries, as per Nvidia. This event, hosted in the United Arab Emirates, a nation without democratically elected institutions, serves as a platform for global discussions.

Huang proposed customizing AI frameworks to align with each nation’s specific requirements during his dialogue with Al Olama. When questioned about his role as a leader in a developing country, Huang expressed his willingness to incorporate the language and cultural data of that nation into a comprehensive language model.

Furthermore, Huang claimed that Nvidia had “democratized” AI by integrating its GPUs into a unified system, envisioning a future where individuals may not need to study computer science due to the seamless nature of computing systems.

Nvidia, under Huang’s leadership, has seen significant success with its GPU chips utilized in data centers by tech giants like Amazon, Microsoft, Google, and OpenAI to enhance AI development and operations. The company’s financial prosperity has surged, driven by the demand for its high-performance chips.

The notion of every country possessing its AI infrastructure aligns with Nvidia’s business strategy, potentially opening up global markets for their AI-accelerating hardware products. With the tech industry poised for increased adoption of deep learning AI applications, Nvidia anticipates substantial growth ahead.

In a notable development, Nvidia briefly surpassed Amazon in market capitalization before trailing behind, positioning the two companies as leading players in the US market alongside Microsoft, Apple, and Google’s Alphabet. This fluctuation underscores the dynamic nature of the tech industry and the competitive landscape among key players.
