According to a recent report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is in no rush to develop iOS 18. The primary focus of the new devices is expected to be their exclusive generative AI capabilities, which will be incorporated into the iPhone 16 technology the following year.
It is speculated that these AI features could be comparable to the text-to-image generation and document explanation functionalities that Google and Samsung are currently working on, although specific details are not yet available. Furthermore, Apple is reportedly revamping Siri through its proprietary LLM technology.
Apple is aiming to position the new AI features as the key selling point of upcoming devices, despite no significant hardware changes expected for the iPhone 16 series. All four models in the iPhone 16 lineup are projected to launch with the Apple A18 chip.
Reports suggest that the Pro devices will feature a new Get Button located on the right side near the power button. Additionally, leaks indicate that the iPhone 16 Pro will include a 5x optical zoom lens and smaller Dynamic Islands.
