An impactful strategic partnership has been unveiled between Altana and Dataminr, leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to aid businesses in real-time monitoring of supply chains to identify disruptions promptly.

This collaboration aims to integrate Dataminr’s system, which utilizes both public and private data to map the global supply chain, with Altana Atlas powered by AI. Altana Atlas is a program that employs AI to monitor events, risks, and valuable insights extracted from vast amounts of public data.

During the Directions summit at the bank on Wednesday, Altana’s co-founder and CEO Evan Smith expressed, “Through this collaboration, we will provide swift updates on global events – such as earthquakes, labor strikes, severe weather conditions, and more — and present these events in a geographical context. We are combining real-time, comprehensive global events into a dynamic supply chain visualization, showcasing their impact on businesses.” This innovative approach marks a significant advancement in the industry.

The partnership between Altana and Dataminr will enable the integration of real-time alerts from Dataminer into the powerful Altrana Atlas, an AI-driven visualization of the global supply chain landscape.

In a press release, Ted Bailey, the founder and CEO of Dataminr, stated, “We are excited to announce this new collaboration with Altana, our company’s inaugural Platform API partner. This venture paves the way for strategic enhancements in addressing supply chain complexities, with Dataminr’s AI-generated real-time event reports now seamlessly integrated into Altana Atlas.”

As products traverse the intricate global supply chain, they generate diverse data sets in various formats and languages, including purchase records, customs declarations, shipment bookings, and other critical data points.

To present a unified and comprehensive view of the flow of goods and their components across the supply network, Altana’s Atlas employs AI to synthesize this diverse data.

The Atlas delineates the different tiers of a company’s supply chain, ranging from raw material suppliers to intermediate components and finished products. It provides insights into various supply chain connections that can help identify and mitigate risks, such as dependencies on labor-intensive goods. Additionally, the Atlas empowers business users to inquire about different facets of their supply chain seamlessly.
