The recently finalized three-year TV/Theatrical agreement, which was reached between the negotiating council of the group and the AMPTP this week, has been officially endorsed by the SAG-AFTRA National Board on November 10. Following this approval, details have emerged regarding the lucrative $1.11 billion deal that was secured for its members after enduring a 118-day strike.

A notable inclusion in this agreement is the introduction of a groundbreaking “streaming participation bonus” estimated to be valued at \(40 million annually (\)120 million over the contract’s duration). This bonus will provide additional residuals for actors involved in successful shows and movies released via streaming platforms. Furthermore, actors will benefit from a 7% increase in minimum wages in the first year, enhanced AI protections mandating performer consent for digital scans in each production, and protocols requiring studios to seek approval from an actor’s estate in case of their demise.

Other key enhancements encompass elevated remuneration for historical performers, heightened inclusivity standards for performers with diverse hair and skin characteristics, the mandatory presence of intimacy coordinators on set, and updated guidelines for motion capture actors. Additionally, improvements such as increased caps for pension and health plans, safety measures like watch rails for self-taped auditions, and various other provisions are part of the comprehensive package. The full details of the agreement are set to be disclosed to the public on Monday night.
