Another corporation is aiming to reduce expenses by substituting skilled human artists with conceptual artificial intelligence. Hasbro’s Magicians of the Coast sparked controversy recently by heavily depending on AI to produce artwork for a promotional campaign for Magic: The Gathering.
The company posted a since-deleted MTG promotional image on Twitter last week, drawing attention due to peculiar inaccuracies reminiscent of AI-generated content. Observant viewers quickly detected discrepancies in the artwork, akin to those commonly found in AI-generated visuals.
Despite numerous observations highlighting these irregularities, Magicians of the Coast adamantly refuted any AI involvement in the creation of the image, insisting that it was the work of human hands. While fans may be perplexed by the departure from the usual artistic style, the organization remains resolute in its assertion. They affirm that this creation is a result of human ingenuity, not artificial intelligence.
