This return to the State Department signifies a homecoming for Berntsen, who previously held the position of Assistant Chief Information Officer. During his tenure, he led a dedicated data and analytics team focused on enhancing the State Department’s data development strategies.
Berntsen’s professional background includes serving as the National Chairman for Afghanistan at the Office of the Secretary of Defense during his time in the state.
Prior to his government roles, he held a senior management position at Deloitte, where he played a pivotal role as a Data Analytics and Strategy Consultant, supporting various national clients in their digital transformation endeavors.
