Takashi Kiryu, the CEO of the rebranded New Square Enix, recently shared his New Year’s message for 2024, outlining his goals for the upcoming year. A significant part of his communication to the company’s supporters delves into the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in 2023, particularly highlighting tools like ChatGPT that have emerged prominently.
Kiryu expressed his views on the development of ChatGPT, emphasizing how it simplifies tasks like writing, translations, and engaging in text-based conversations, leading to the rapid proliferation of relational AIs. He believes that AI has the potential to revolutionize the creative process, including programming, and reshape existing content creation methods.
Furthermore, Kiryu stated, “We have ambitious plans to leverage AI and other advanced technologies in our content creation and publishing endeavors.” The immediate goal is to enhance productivity and refine marketing strategies. Exciting game releases are on the horizon for Square Enix in early 2024, with “Final Fantasy 7 Resurrection” slated for February 29. Subsequent launches include the “Dawntrail” expansion for Final Fantasy 14 in summer 2024, along with the quirky shooter “Foamstars.”
