In an interview with New York Times columnist Kevin Roose, Mostaque expressed his discontent with the CEO position, emphasizing that he struggles with the responsibilities and does not enjoy the role. He elaborated on his views in a podcast, “Hard Fork,” where he highlighted the difficulties he faced in managing distributed instability and disliking the CEO duties.
Similarly, Elon Musk has also voiced his dissatisfaction with being a CEO, citing the challenges and pressures that come with the role. Musk, in various instances, mentioned the analogy of starting a business as akin to facing darkness and consuming glass, indicating the inherent difficulties and sacrifices involved in entrepreneurship.
Both Mostaque and Musk have acknowledged the burdens of leadership, with Musk revealing his preference for focusing on product development rather than the operational aspects of running a company.
